A Look at Amber Heard’s California Desert Digs

Searching for some OTG solace, actress and news-channel fixture Amber Heard settled into the California desert community of Yucca Valley in the not-too-distant past. The residence she selected: a 2,457 sq. ft. desert contemporary with a living style caught between grid liberation and black-card luxury. According to Dirt, she picked up the six-acre retreat in the early days of 2019 for $570,000.

The property’s most interesting amenity is its 110-foot rope bridge, which traverses a river bed and allows access to a hillside gazebo. Perched in the shade of the structure, one can survey a panorama of the local landscape, and the hills in the distance.

The house, which was completed in 2015, features a pueblo-inspired exterior; boxy, punctuated with vigas, and clad in sand-toned stucco. Beyond the home’s set of iron front doors is an open concept living area, with polished concrete floors providing cooling in hot weather. A small wet bar finished in reclaimed plank features pine cabinetry and granite countertops, both of which are reprised in the kitchen.

The master suite, one of three bedroom suites in the home, includes a sliding door off the bedroom for exterior living area access, as well as a nicely thought-out bath with a central soaking tub and mirror-image vanities and stone-and-tile twin shower stalls. The property’s outdoor spaces include a covered patio, while outbuildings include a 1,200 sq. ft. garage with an engine winch.

Heard’s upcoming projects include superhero film Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, with Jason Momoa, Willem Dafoe, Dolph Lundgren, and Nicole Kidman.
