Louis Vuitton’s iconic Tambour watch, first introduced in 2002, has undergone a luxurious reimagining in brown ceramic and rose gold. This new interpretation brings Vuitton’s signature monogram flower design language to the forefront in a sleek, modern package.
The 40mm case features flowing integrated lugs that seamlessly transition into the bracelet for a sculptural look. Meticulously finished by hand, the alternating brushed and polished surfaces create eye-catching light reflections. The brown ceramic case and bracelet are complemented by rose gold elements on the crown, caseback, and central bracelet links. Achieving the perfect brown ceramic color is an intricate process requiring specialized skills in ceramic production.
Inside the case, the watch is powered by Vuitton’s own LFT023 movement, designed and produced at their Swiss manufacture La Fabrique du Temps. The 22k gold micro-rotor provides 50 hours of power reserve and allows an unobstructed view of the refined movement architecture through the display caseback.
The rich brown dial features Vuitton’s LV monogram pattern reinterpreted as vertical brushing on the center portion. Rose gold hands and indices coated in blue lume ensure legibility. The small seconds subdial at 6 o’clock provides balance to the dial layout.
Retaining the Tambour’s signature drum-shaped case, this new ceramic edition takes Vuitton’s iconic watch to new heights through cutting-edge engineering and traditional Swiss craftsmanship. With meticulous attention to detail that can only be achieved by hand, the Tambour Ceramic is a modern luxury object symbolic of the Maison’s watchmaking prowess.
