Acclaimed Swiss watchmaker TAG Heuer has unveiled reimagined versions of its iconic TAG Heuer Carrera timepieces, merging the brand’s legendary racing pedigree with cutting-edge materials and design. Dubbed the TAG Heuer Carrera Extreme Sport series, these new chronographs and tourbillons epitomize the dynamic spirit and technical mastery that has defined the Carrera collection since its inception in 1963, named after the grueling Carrera Panamericana road race.

This latest iteration aims to deepen the connection to TAG Heuer’s racing heritage through refined aesthetics and ergonomics. The integrated rubber straps echo racing car air intakes, while reduced case diameters and lug-to-lug lengths improve wearability during sporting pursuits. Skeleton dials allow inner mechanisms to shine, with black outlines and Super-LumiNova for optimal legibility.

Four chronograph models showcase a spectrum of vibrant colors and high-end materials like titanium, ceramic and 18K rose gold. The chronograph tourbillons push boundaries even further, blending lightweight forged carbon with luxurious gold. Inside, the new TH20-09 manufacture movement combines modern touches like a shield-shaped rotor with TAG Heuer mainstays—the vertical clutch, column wheel and 80-hour power reserve.

With these new timepieces, TAG Heuer continues a legacy of innovation stretching back to the 19th century but always looking forward. As CEO Frédéric Arnault affirms, “We are writing the future while respecting our past and origins.” Blending tradition with cutting-edge technology and design, the new TAG Heuer Carrera Extreme Sport series will ignite the spirit of racing for a new generation.
