Melissa McCarthy’s newest residential acquisition is an East Coast mid-rise abode. The Emmy-award winning actress and designer paid $7.35 million for the property, which is located on the top floor of a prominent building at the intersection of Lower Manhattan’s Little Italy, Nolita and Soho neighborhoods.

The building is a recent addition to the neighborhood; designed by Morris Adjmi, it opened in 2021. The red brick exterior of the structure is decorated with rounded red brick ornaments that give the exterior a knurled texture; they are intended to suggest the architectural details of the area’s Italianate tenement buildings, the Adjmi firm website informs. There are only 20 units in this condominium development.

McCarthy’s unit contains three bedrooms and four baths across 2,374 sq. ft. of interiors; its keyed elevator entry opens to the 10-foot ceilings that run throughout the residence. A wraparound terrace adds 1,265 sq. ft. to the total living area. The living spaces include a library with a floor-to-ceiling wall of bookshelves and a sliding glass door for terrace access and a combination living and dining area with city views and multiple sliding glass doors. The kitchen features white lacquer cabinetry, dolomite countertops and waterfall island, and Miele hardware.

The penthouse’s accommodations include a master with a double-vanity bath finished with terrazzo floors and containing a steam shower and freestanding soaking tub.

McCarthy’s upcoming films include Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story, with Jerry Seinfeld, Jim Gaffigan, Amy Schumer, Hugh Grant, James Marsden, Christian Slater, and Maria Bakalova.
