Tatoosh, the classy 303-foot yacht of late Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen, appeared on the upper-tier used watercraft market recently.
Tatoosh was completed in 2000, and built by noted German yard Nobiskrug. With strikingly beautiful exterior lines and an interior that is as lavishly refined as it is literate, Tatoosh is a yacht for the discriminating.
The living areas on board Tatoosh span five decks. Her interior spaces include a connected main saloon and formal dining room, the former with a limestone fireplace and the latter with pocketing doors for privacy; macro-parquet hardwood floors and LED-bordered tray ceilings are featured in both. This yacht sleeps 19 across 11 cabins, with a private apartment for the owners.
Tatoosh’s amenities are occasionally extraordinary. Of particular interest is the design of the contra-flow swimming pool; the bottom of the pool can be raised flush with the deck to create a dance floor. Other diversions on board this yacht: a gym, a massage room, a beach club with sea terrace and diving lobby, a spa and sauna, and a cinema.
The more utilitarian amenities of this craft include a pair of helipads, stabilizers, and an elevator. She also features windows of bulletproof glass. She cruises at 12.5 knots, and can reach a top speed of 16.
Tatoosh’s maintenance log includes a 20-year service conducted in 2021. She arrives on the market with an asking price of €90 million and is available via Burgess and Fraser.
Allen passed away in 2018. His net worth was around $20 billion.
