The Los Angeles residence listed by Food Network figurehead Valerie Bertinelli changed hands less than a month after appearing on the open market tagged at $2.5 million. The three-bed, three-bath Laurel Hills nest appeared in high summer, and closed last week. Bertinelli accepted an offer of $2.932 million for it.
The 2,529 sq. ft. house is a single-level midcentury rambler dating to 1962. The interiors culminate in a shared living area that’s wide open but for a free-standing floor-to-ceiling masonry accent wall outfitted with a peninsular fireplace; a joyously expansive and unpretentious space, it is lighted by the plentiful glass inset into its opposed exterior walls, and accesses the outdoor recreation spot via a large sliding door.
Outside, the pool has a companion living area capped with a vine-covered pergola and featuring built-in sweetheart bench seats. Amid the requisite strips of lawn is an elder palm, and the patio that extends the exterior living space even more. Highlights of the beds and baths: the freestanding tub, nestled into a glass corner overlooking the .26-acre property.
