Every picture tells a story, and a gander at the image of the 197-foot yacht featured below spins a seafaring yarn about rock star Rod Stewart and his wife, Penny Lancaster, who chartered the boat for $325K per week this summer.

Named St. David, the yacht is the work of Benetti, the esteemed Italian firm that also built the astonishing, 351-foot Lana that Bill Gates chartered late last year. Lana is loaded with a beach club, a large swimming pool, a hammam, and a massage room.

St. David launched in 2008. The craft was designed by Andrew Winch. Her interiors are dominated by a circular motif, which contains the ship’s tropical-themed lounge and formal dining rooms as discrete spaces. Details include an abundance of glossy hardwood — there appears to be a great deal of mahogany used throughout the ship’s living areas — as well as ornate dome ceilings, florid balustrades, and mirrored panels.

There are six cabins on board St. David, including a split-level master stateroom with a study that features decorative built-in bookshelves. The yacht can accommodate 12 in all, and offers a dance floor, a spa, and a gym. She cruises at 13 knots and tops out at 17, and has a range of 5,500 nautical miles. Toys on board include a WaveRunner, and a pair of SEABOBs, and St. David sails with two tenders as well.

Stewart has sold over 250 million records worldwide. He’s had a slew of chart-topping albums throughout his career, the first of which was released in 1971, and the most recent in 2018.
