‘Botched’ Star Dr. Paul Nassif Scoops Up Dana Point Home for $14M

In June of this year, Dr. Paul Nassif — familiar to legions of fans as one-half of the consulting team of E!’s hit series Botched — hefted his custom modern villa in Bel Air back onto the open market with a price tag of $30 million.

About a month before the relisting, the high-profile plastic surgeon found a charmingly effective 2012-built effort to bring the atmosphere of Nice to the Strand Beach area. Before he knew it was beguiled out of $14 million.

The house Nassif closed on and the house he’s taking another run at the market in an attempt to sell can collectively be viewed as a study in contrasts. In the outbox is a modern villa finished last year—the first time he tried to sell it, it wasn’t quite finished—which is dressed up with the usual design rogues’ gallery of the style: bookmatched, highly-figured stone, plentiful glass, slatted hardwood, and a rather moody overall atmosphere.

In the inbox is a six-bedroom, 9,005 sq. ft. romantic expression of a part of the world with a far more extravagant sense of history. Details of its exterior include limestone blocks, Juliet balconies, arched casements and French doors, and pendant fixtures. It begins with a semi-courtyard entrance that’s quite enchanting for a recent build.

Inside the home, a curving staircase and balcony overlook with wrought-iron balustrade, custom millwork, French fireplaces, built-in bookshelves, and herringbone-pattern and plank floors contribute to the living style. Specialty rooms include a library, but the kitchen gets the blue ribbon, with a large center island and a U-shaped counter that’s positively extravagant.

Outside, a pool and companion elevated spa, a loggia with a fireplace, and a rooftop deck offer plenty of outdoor lounging options.
