Sandra Bullock, the Academy Award-winning actress who founded production company Fortis in 1995 — the company’s flicks include this year’s Romancing the Stone-inspired adventure The Lost City — has generally been in selling mode the past year or so. The list of properties she’s handed off to new buyers since 2021 include her Tybee Island retreat, which she let go that winter for $4.2 million, and a West Hollywood condo that closed at $4.4 million early this year. A bit further back, in 2018, she found a buyer for her charming cottage in Hollywood Hills; the 1942-built two-bedder sold for $2.9 million.

At present, however, Bullock doesn’t appear interested in selling her oceanfront residence in Malibu…but the Cove Colony house can be rented this summer for a $30K-per-month vacation. According to public records, the Hollywood power woman purchased the two-and-two in 2020.

The house dates to 1958, and some of its more salient original features remain amid the contemporary details that have entered the picture via a recent wholesale renovation…although the Robert Indiana print that previously adorned a living room wall has been removed from the composition in the sweep of a general design overhaul. The kitchen’s been darkened a bit, as creamy dark gray cabinetry with bronze fixtures has replaced the honey-toned shaker-inspired set; preexisting skylights in the space brighten sufficiently to support the change.

The exterior’s red brick façade and seafoam green ocean side — the green was also featured on the balcony — have also been traded in for a more neutral approach. In the living room, an extended white-painted masonry fireplace has replaced a flush installation with a red brick border. Meanwhile, the courtyard-style deck that stands between the residence and the PCH has been given a fire feature.

Bullock stars in action comedy Bullet Train, with Brad Pitt and Joey King; the film is slated to be released next month.
