Bringing to a close a protracted marketing process that began at least four years ago — and included an auction along the way — the Texas estate of retired NBA sharpshooter Jermaine O’Neal (not related to Shaquille of the same surname and past profession) has finally gone to a new owner.

The extravagant property in Southlake sold in the first week of the month for an as-yet undisclosed amount; it had been asking $9.8 million prior to the sale. The asking price peaked at $11.5 million, according to public records. It was slated to be auctioned with in late 2019, but bidding didn’t reach the reserve price.

The custom-built mansion isn’t for the faint of heart. With two levels, its 23,604 sq. ft. still give it a massive footprint. It contains eight bedrooms and at least twelve baths, and a litany of amenities that includes a gym, an elevator, a theater, an indoor basketball court and a game room with a two-lane bowling alley.

The house sits on a 4.83-acre lot, with sprawling lawns and a pool with a waterslide at the center of a lavish outdoor recreation and living area that is filled out with a summer kitchen and a fireplace.
