Jonah Hill Puts Malibu Home on the Market for $15M

Last spring, actor Jonah Hill shelled out $9 million for a 3,653 sq. ft. modern in the Malibu, California, enclave The Colony. A quick brush-up and the house is back on the market for early summer: the four-bed, four-bath house is available at a whisker under $15 million. The listing comes after Hill upgraded to another Colony property, that one sitting right on the beach. New to his portfolio, it closed just weeks ago, and required the two-time Academy Award nominee to shake loose of $15.5 million.

A look at the outgoing home’s boxy exterior reveals a change in weeds: formerly clothed in a chaste shade of bright white, the first impression is now dominated by flat thunderhead grey, with hot pink accents. Interiors, too, have been substantially darkened, although thankfully not to the point of suggesting the pathological; the two-level great room is still generally bright, although grey scale tones have crept in to the first level — including the kitchen, which has been revised generally as a darker spot — and the solid glass balustrade of the room’s wrap around balcony has transitioned from transparent to smoke.

Other notable changes: the kitschy chandelier in the great room has been changed out for a colossal paper lantern pendant, and glass shelving has made way for floating plank. Of the bedrooms, the master is usually the only one to get dusted up in a quickie treatment like this one, and in this case we find what looks to be dramatically figured dark grey quartz now adorning the room’s fireplace accent wall.

Hill’s upcoming projects include You People, with Eddie Murphy, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Mike Epps, Deon Cole, Rhea Perlman, and David Duchovny.
