Space, one of the yachts owned by Russian billionaire Vagit Alekperov, is 114 feet long, and capable of a top speed of 27 knots. The nimble size and considerable speed capabilities came in handy recently.

Alekperov, who has been sanctioned by the U.K., apparently managed to keep it from being seized by running home to Mother Russia, likely at as close to 27 knots as could be sustained.

The yacht is luxuriously appointed and belies its smaller size. It was built by Dutch yard Heesen Yachts and launched in 2012. According to Forbes, Alekperov owns Heesen. He purchased the company in 2008. The acquisition came at a cost of $150 million.

Space, formerly named Galactica Plus, sleeps eight guests; her accommodations include an owner’s stateroom, a VIP suite, a double guest suite and a twin guest suite. She is powered by a pair of MTU M94 engines.

Space has a sister that’s bigger in size and younger in age; Galactica Super Nova, a 2016 build, measures in at 230 feet and boasts all the trappings that a yacht of its caliber implies.

Alekperov’s net worth is around $20 billion.
