Sean McVay, the head coach of the Los Angeles Rams, is likely riding a wave that will carry him through the summer. He came down to earth long enough to take ownership of this home in Hidden Hills, though; this month, the celebrated athletic strategist plunked down $14 million on the nose for the 9,000 square-footer, a very new modern farmhouse on almost 1.5 acres.

The 2022-built home’s façade sets the tone at early 20th-century factory. Its façade features a double gable and a soaring two-level entry with a huge second-floor expanse of glass, while a perpendicular attached four-bay garage adds a lot of wood cladding to the first impression.

The interiors include a master suite that’s nicely accomplished; a set of steel-framed French doors acts as the portal between bedroom and bath; the latter features herringbone-pattern tile and dramatically figured natural stone walls, while the former sports a vaulted ceiling clad in wood, a fireplace, and a gaping sliding glass wall that opens to the suite’s balcony.

The home’s loft-like common area is decked out with a heavyweight fireplace accent wall and wet bar in matching stone, as well as built-in bookshelves with a rail ladder. The space opens to a covered patio by way of a wall of pocketing glass panels. Indoor amenities include an office with floor-to-ceiling built-in bookshelves, a sauna, and a gym; outside, an infinity-edge pool with an elevated sundeck is positioned across the lawn.
