In Malibu, Hunter Biden’s Secret Service Detail Sets Up Shop at $30K/Month Rental Next Door

In August of last year, Hunter Biden took up residence in a charmingly traditional four-bed rental home in Malibu. The 3,000 square footer, which runs him $20K per month, occupies a bucolic corner of the desirable L.A.-area community, and features a deck and courtyard on one side of the property; on the water side, a patio and second-floor veranda take in fine views.

Next door, as it happens, Biden’s complement of secret service agents might be perceived as doing somewhat better, if the scale is less than refined and the cost of one’s rental is the primary criterion: they’re in a $30K per month rental next door, according to ABC News. The house is a 1957-built Mediterranean—floated in the listing information as ‘Tuscan’—with six bedrooms and five baths across 3,778 sq. ft. of interiors.

A few of the home’s details are unusually striking. Among them is the use of artisanal tile in the master bath and kitchen; in the latter, it’s used to cap the round island, the counter over the oven, and a unique range alcove, while in the former it dresses up the shower and basin. The house’s living style is also expressed by seasoned posts and beams, hexagonal terra-cotta tile, floating plank shelves, and hardwood plank ceilings.

Gardens and Mediterranean landscaping express the grounds, which measure in at .69 acres.

Biden’s former rentals include a villa in Venice and a modern aerie in the Hollywood Hills.
