A Hawaii property associated with legendary San Francisco psychedelic musician Carlos Santana changed hands this spring. The little estate is one of several the guitarist has owned on Kauai, and first appeared on the open market in the summer of 2021 priced at $12.9 million. It closed recently at $11.9 million.

Santana listed the property within weeks of settling on a larger estate in the island’s Princeville community: an 8,173 sq. ft. single-level rambler with four bedrooms and a beguiling indoor/outdoor lifestyle and a design sensibility that combines refined warmth and naturalistic sympathy with its setting. The purchased sapped $20.5 million from his coffers.

The outgoing home spans 4,003 sq. ft., with three bedrooms and five baths and an expansive outdoor living space with a kitchen, a bar, a spa, and an infinity-edge pool. Like Santana’s larger property in the area, it features Bali-inspired architecture augmented with retractable glass walls.

Santana’s other real estate adventures of late include another sale in Hawaii for the above-ask sum of $4.805 million. In the conterminous U.S., the article parted with a home in the Bay Area for $5.5 million and another in Las Vegas for $2.7 million. The desert city is Santana’s vocational residence; his open-ended engagement at the city’s House of Blues continues, a lucrative progression of intervals, and a trilling experience.
