Along with a glimpse into its new performance brand, F Sport, Lexus recently introduced a notable new concept series. Something of a concept lineup, the new electrics are sedans, SUVs and even a van. Getting all the attention is the BEV Sport, which is more or less the ambassador of Lexus’ BEV lineup. Lexus revealed the lineup with a single title: Lexus Electrified.

The reveal is the most recent entry in a concept series that began in 2019 with the LF-30 Electrified, and continued last year with the LF-Z Electrified. But the passel of battery-electric vehicles is a new approach, incorporating a full spread of body styles in a single concept.

The most interesting of the lot is, of course, the BEV Sport, a long-nosed beauty with its cabin positioned toward the back end that’s clearly inspired by British classicism. But all three concepts have a more pressing context for Lexus and its parent company Toyota. In a press conference in December, company president Akio Toyoda laid out the automaker’s carbon-neutral goals and turn toward BEV powertrain designs, unveiling the Sport among a dozen or so additional models.

Unfortunately, the recent announcement does not offer more information on Direct4, the company’s AI-driven AWD system, or other touchstones of the ongoing Lexus Electrified project. But it does give a projected 0-60 time for the Sport — roughly 2.25 seconds — and the concept’s ‘cruising range’, which comes in at 430 miles.

To be continued.
