Cardinals’ J. J. Watt Selling Texas Spread for $5M After Price Chop

Arizona Cardinals defensive end J.J. Watt reduced the price of his estate in Houston this winter to $4.999 million. The price chop seems to have done the trick; the five-bedroom, 7,706 sq. ft. mansion is now pending sale.

Watt has owned the home for about six years. He initially listed the place in October of last year, according to public records, a few months after agreeing to the Cardinals deal. He spent 10 seasons with the Houston Texans before moving on to Arizona with a two-year, $28 million contract.

The property is located in Bunker Hill. Its architectural details include a porte-cochere, a farmhouse-like covered front porch, and various European-inspired elements. In back, it breaks into wings, creating a courtyard where a loggia, covered patio space and summer kitchen are arranged around a T-shaped pool.

The home’s interiors include a large shared living area: a formal dining room with an attached wine storage room, a kitchen with a large center island and a stone cooking alcove, and a great room with a cathedral ceiling. Beige tones and stone tile floors are consistent throughout.

Specialty spaces include an entertainment room with a wet bar, a master bedroom with a fireplace, a master bath with a sitting room, and a theater room.
