In the past few weeks, Lexus has announced updates for both the LS 500 and the LC 500. We’ve already had a look at what the luxury automaker has in store for the LS 500 for 2022. This time around we’ll survey changes in store for the company’s LC 500, their halo model, for the upcoming model year in hard-top, convertible and hybrid forms.

For 2022, the non-hybrid LC 500 is outfitted with Lexus’ 471-horsepower naturally aspirated 5.0L V8 and 10-speed automatic transmission. The hybrid version comes with the Multi-stage Hybrid System: a 3.5L V6 paired with two electric motors. But, like the LS 500, changes to the LC 500’s exterior and engine options are less significant for 2022 that the addition of tech-driven features.

In the case of the LS 500, the emphasis is on safety, but the LC 500 of course puts the stress on performance. Suspension has been tweaked for a more traditionally natural road feel and better cornering, and a Sport Package adds Torsen limited-slip rear differential with a rear performance damper from Yamaha, performance brake pads, and Intuitive Parking Assist.

But this is Lexus’ top dog, and the more substantial news may be the addition of the Bespoke Build program for the 2022 LC 500, a first. The Lexus press release indicates that the program uses the Sport Package as a performance foundation, and adds the all-weather package which includes a heated steering wheel. Cosmetics, wheels, spoiler, a carbon fiber roof are options available through the program. And, for drivers enamored of the LC Inspiration cars, the same 21-inch forged alloy wheels in black can be specified.

The 2022 LC 500 starts at $94,125 with associated fees.
