A classy estate in Beverly Hills is now the property of South Korean billionaire Chung Yong-jin, a grandson of Samsung founder Lee Byung-chul. The house is a Mediterranean-style dating to 2012 that features a well-engineered fantasy element of dreamy Riviera paradise. It changed hands for $19.2 million, according to Dirt.

Coffered ceilings in living room and dining room, and a barrel ceiling in the kitchen contribute to the subtle suggestion of escapist atmosphere. The kitchen’s Italian countryside-depicting trompe l’oeil stove backsplash is perhaps an accent too far, but carried off well; a hand-painted postcard in an alcove. The kitchen’s wood-fired pizza oven is more pragmatically romantic, though, a welcome luxury.

The 11,000 sq. ft. property features six bedrooms and nine baths.  Of all the home’s amenities, the master suite is the most invitational. An incredibly warm refuge, it features a bedroom with mid-toned hardwood plank, custom millwork, a hipped ceiling and a marble fireplace finished with a raised hearth, and a spa bath with a freestanding soaking tub; a pair of walk-in closets with doors inset with decorative glass panels finishes the suite.

Other indoor amenities include a fitness room with a sauna, a bar, a wine cellar, a theater, and a butler’s pantry. Outside, a cozy living area with a pool, spa and fireplace patio are as deliriously escapist as the home’s interior, and surrounded by the privacy landscaping that borders the .51-acre lot.

Chung is the CEO of Shinsegae Group. His net worth is $1.6 billion, according to Forbes.
