Brabus Turns Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S Into ‘World’s Fastest SUV’ With $450K Rocket 900 Edition

It was in July of this year that a new earthbound Rocket was revealed by German tuning shop Brabus. The G63 Rocket Edition was announced as limited to 25 examples, loaded with Brabus’ V8 biturbo and the 900-level’s 900 horsepower, or close to it, giving it a 0-62 time of 3.7 seconds.

But the Brabus Rocket program got a booster recently, only two months from the G63 Rocket Edition unveiling, and the new SUV is an even faster Rocket Edition Mercedes.

Brabus used the GLE 63 S 4MATIC as a foundation this time around. The vehicle is loaded with the same V8, but manages to eke a bit more out of it: the GLE 63 S 4MATIC Rocket can launch to 62 in 3.2 seconds. Brabus calls it the world’s fastest SUV, and it appears that the car’s performance can be traced to a new aero concept; the aero pack includes a new chin spoiler, rear spoiler and diffuse, and side outlet trim, all in full carbon.

The 1 of 25 Rocket Edition rides on 24 inch aero-disc wheels, and comes with Brabus’ valve-controlled sport exhaust with quad tailpipes and active sound management. The tuning job continues into the cabin, where Brabus designed a characteristically plush, creature-comfort-oriented interior replete with gray leather, red accent stitching, and crest-shaped quilting.

Only 25 examples of the new 900 Rocket Edition GLE 63 S 4MATIC will be produced. Pricing is around $450,000.
