One of the most beautiful watches revealed in some time, Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Reverso Minute Repeater Tribute is also filled with sound. The repeater represents the history and the culmination of the firm’s Reverso watches, and is Jaeger-LeCoultre’s centerpiece at the Sound Maker show in New York, underway from late September to the first week of October.
The Reverso Minute Repeater Tribute’s Janus faces are also representative, and this may be the ideal gift for the emotionally complex. The skeletonized dial, in the context of the overall design, makes for a very effective balancing act, as the watch’s traditionalist soul is given spirit with the more contemporary look.
The Reverso Minute Repeater Tribute feature’s Jaeger-LeCoultre’s 944 movement, with 35 hours of reserve. The Swiss watchmaker will only produce 10 examples. The model is priced at €250,000; that’s about $290,000 at current rates. Another Reverso model unveiled earlier in the year is the Reverso Hybris Mechanica Calibre 185 Quadriptyque; it was priced at $1.35 million.
