Those thinking of following the sun as the solstice looms, take note: BMW Motorrad has expanded its touring bike lineup to close out this summer.

The pair of larger highway bikes flesh out the R 18 series for the 2022 model year, with one of them—the R 18 Transcontinental—ready for the long-distance adventures avid two-wheel touring mavens dream about, and the other—the R 18 B, with B indicating bagger—a versatile big bike suitable for around-town travel or long distance voyaging.

The R 18 B features a handlebar-mounted fairing, standard dynamic cruise control (adaptive is optional), servo-controlled hydraulic shock adjustment, linked braking, and of course a soft bag to augment the hard cases. The R 18 Transcontinental is big all around, with a large windshield, running boards and an abundance of storage.

Pricing for the 2022 R 18 B and R 18 Transcontinental starts at $22,140.
