Former MLB first baseman Adrian Gonzalez sold his flashy contemporary in Beverly Grove this summer. The retired baseball player accepted an offer of $4 million for the property, which registered as a loss; he paid $4.4 million for it last summer and flipped it back on the market with a $4.7 million ask.

The home’s daring exterior architecture gives way to an open-concept main living area with a wine display, a wet bar and a kitchen and family room with a linear fireplace. Single-stringer and floating staircases service the three levels of the home, which combine for a total living area of 5,000 sq. ft. Solid plank hardwood is featured throughout the bedrooms.

A fold-away glass wall opens to the home’s exterior living space, which is enhanced with hardwood decking, a fire feature and a lap pool.
