New to the real estate market recently is a private island that is both a turnkey lifestyle property and an architecturally significant one, twice over. The remote spot in Upstate New York is called Petra, and contains a pair of Frank Lloyd Wright-designed residences. It is priced at $9.95 million.

We had a look at this property just shy of four years ago, when it surfaced on the market with a $14.9 million ask. Then, as now, the focus was on the main house, designed by FLW but constructed — or completed, as this project may well have taken several years to see into habitable fruition — in 2007.

A pair of guest houses fills out the accommodations, with one, the original home on the island, a Wright design completed in the 1950s. A tea house is also among the 10.37-acre island’s structures.

This unusually engaging estate is located in Carmel Hamlet, a quiet corner of Putnam County. The location is easily accessible by air, though, as there is a helipad on the property.
