Chrissy Teigen and John Legend Asking $17.7M in Beverly Hills

The Beverly Hills modern of Chrissy Teigen and John Legend is back on the market this spring with a price trim. The appealing property was purchased by the couple in the first days of 2016. The 90210 spot had been owned by Rihanna before Legend and Teigen plunked down $14.1 million for it.

The duo hung onto the heavily revised 1966-built home until 2020, when they listed it for the first time with a sanguine $23.95 million asking price — testing the waters, they were. Price prunings followed, of course, and presently the property in the Beverly Hills Post Office neighborhood is asking $17.7 million.

The home’s exterior is attractive — moody gray, a little imposing, glassy, with a staggered roofline. The two stories of windows in front lighten what would otherwise look like an interesting fortress, allowing the unusually engaging architecture to really stand out.

Inside the home, a step-down living room with a split ceiling and a cement accent wall inset with a two-sided linear fireplace gets top billing among the shared spaces. The kitchen mixes industrial and Scandinavian, with a broad bank of nearly seamless floor-to-ceiling cabinetry in natural-toned wood, backlit floating plank shelves against poured concrete, and stainless duct-like stove ventilation. The master bedroom’s high, semi-vaulted ceiling is just right; beyond its Fleetwood door is a balcony overlooking the pool, spa and outdoor living area, and its bath sports onyx sinks and a marble soaking tub.

The formal dining room is the iconoclast in the home. The space receives some heavy ornament by way of custom ceiling millwork, and an artisanal and likely unique chandelier.
