In the early days of the winter, chanteuse Rihanna became the new owner of this recent 7,628 sq. ft. home in Beverly Hills Post Office. The pop star paid $13.75 million for the property, which had been priced at $13.95 million prior to the sale.
The house is a complete rebuild. The property sold in early 2016 for $4.3 million, and entered the market again last July at $16.5 million. The new construction added nearly 2,000 sq. ft. of living space to the home that originally occupied the lot, according to listings that show it before and after its transformation. The original house was a 1938-built traditional with exterior flourishes in red brick.
Standing as something of a little chichi palace, the home that replaced the staid original tenant of this .5-acre lot is very much a 21st-century presence; modern farmhouse design elements, atmospherically lit, dressed in off-white with black trim, and foregrounded by a broad staircase with a double balustrade. The façade is complex but not overly busy, with abundant outdoor living space giving it a relaxed personality to offset the drama.
Inside the home, details include French oak, a wet bar, a carefully-designed kitchen that’s a beaut, and a master with a spa bath and terrace. In back, the outdoor living area blossoms with a courtyard; a pool and spa are the centerpiece of this private and luxurious living area.
Rihanna has sold over 250 million records worldwide. With a net worth around $600 million, she’s reportedly the wealthiest female musician.
