Musician Adam Levine is the buyer of this near-historic estate in Montecito. The Maroon 5 frontman paid $22.7 million for the property, according to public records. The sale closed this month.

Titled El Miraval, the estate is anchored by a renovated Spanish Eclectic that dates to 1923. But the grounds are as compelling as the charming and detail-rich home; the property extends to over five acres, with a sweeping lawn, a landscaped pool area, and fruit and specimen trees.

The main house features an exterior dressed in warm-toned stucco, with soft green windows and doors and a clay tile roof. The interiors begin with a foyer sporting hexagonal tile and raw timber ceilings. The kitchen and other elements of the home don’t seem to have undergone any heavy-handed remodeling to bring them in line with contemporary sensibilities. The home, thus, presents a beautiful canvas that could be updated to taste if desired.

The loggia is similarly intact—there are no signs evidencing interior bowdlerizing to suggest the inviting and charming enclosed outdoor living space has been given a dose of Mr. Clean. The patio, gardens, and stone walls accumulate quickly into an intoxicating cocktail, giving the exterior a storybook feel.

Maroon 5 has sold over 120 million records worldwide. The band is set to release its seventh studio album this year.
