It’s been some time since we looked at the fruits of Audi’s E-Tron division, so here’s a look at what’s in store for the 2021 model year of the E-Tron and E-Tron Sportback models from the German marque.
The big news for the SUEV and crossover EV models is the charging speed. Audi’s update for the EV fueling fundamental and sales obstacle raises the at-home power delivery to the system from 11 kW to 22; that’s a 100% improvement, and it translates directly to shortening the garage down-time from 10 hours to 5. A very attractive detail, and one that will have Audi salespeople feeling far more confident as they deliver their pitch.
Onboard software updates range from the charging system—it can anticipate high load demands and compensate accordingly, among other smart features—and the driver’s assist features, including adaptive cruise.
The 2021 Audi E-Tron models can be ordered now ahead of third- or fourth-quarter deliveries.
