Well-heeled wilderness explorers may now search for the enchanted salmon river of their dreams by both land and sky, as needed. This comprehensive package comes with a price tag of $3 million.

Himalaya, a Land Rover and backcountry expert based in South Carolina, is offering a matched set of a classic Defender 110 and a Kodiak 100 II turboprop plane for folks who really do want to get away from it all, and have the pilot’s license to back up the dream.

Himalaya customized the Defender 110 for exploration. The utilitarian machine has been treated to a wilderness-ready overhaul that includes a Land Rover 300Tdi engine, a 2.5L diesel workhorse. The Defender and the Kodiac 100 have been given a similar color scheme.

This March, Himalaya opened their Experience Center in Wyoming. The $3 million cost for the plane and off-roader buys a trip to this specialized wilderness resort to get a taste for the adventures to come.
