With high-dollar residences in Boston and New York for sale and a recent sojourn in Tampa—courtesy of Derek Jeter—concluded, the coastal Florida lifestyle seems to have beckoned football hero Tom Brady and his wife, supermodel Gisele Bundchen.
In a one-two punch, the couple reportedly picked up a Tampa Bay home that’s to serve as a home base for the duration of Brady’s tenure with the Bucs, and a conveyance for exploring the watery avenues of the local environs to boot. With the addition of the roughly $2 million tally for the watercraft, the couple is comfortably ensconced in Central Florida for the winter for $10 mil.
The Wajer 55 S is a 53-foot boat with a range of almost 500 nautical miles, sleeping accommodations for up to six people, and a top speed of over 40 knots. It’s marketed as a ‘tender’ with the same inverted hyperbolic irony used by empire builders to describe their 30-room ‘summer cottage’ in the Hamptons.
The 55 S picks up where the 55 left off, adding more space to the design equation, with a large sundeck above and additional storage below. It is powered by a trio of 450-horsepower diesel engines sourced from Volvo Penta, and features a center console design that brings an elegant, open simplicity to the deck.
