MLB outfielder Christian Yelich put his Malibu retreat up for sale this season. The Brewers player is asking $6.295 million for the waterfront home, a heavily-renovated 1940-built beach house that is now more or less a modern-style.
Certainly inside the home, where the 2,500 sq. ft. of living area is filled out with a contemporary living style, the home pulls off the modern style quite nicely. Material choices were central to the renovation, and there’s a great deal of natural stone in this house, but a sense of liberation was also key to the redesign, and the way the great room ceiling soars to the upper floor is suitably effective.
The gas fireplace in the main living area has its companion in the master suite, which also features a bath with a water view soaking tub alcove. Other amenities include an elevator, a rooftop deck, and a wet bar.
Yelich signed a nine-year, $215 million extension with the Brewers earlier this year.
