Lamborghini’s bespoke ‘Ad Personam’ program recently opened a new office in Japan. To give the studio a representative halo car all its own, Lamborghini’s Centro Stile gave an Aventador S to award-winning Japanese fashion designer Yohji Yamamoto as a blank canvas.

Brands Yamamoto has worked with previously include Hermès; his client list includes many celebrities. His work is culturally aware, and his fashion lines and couture statements generally contain an element or elements of Japanese dress sense and history.

The Aventador marks a different kind of project for Yamamoto. He dressed the exotic car’s exterior in a mix of black and reds, with shading and graphics helping to make it an artistic text similar to a BMW Art Car. The Avendator’s cabin is a text in and of itself, telling the story of the designer and the car.

The car was unveiled at the end of last month to herald the opening of the Lamborghini Lounge in Tokyo.
