With his new $9.8 million digs in Florida squared away, MLB pitcher Max Scherzer is looking for a buyer for his custom-built house in Virginia. The World Series champ listed the property this week for $15 million.

The 2017-built home is designed in the modern style, but is certainly an earthy interpretation. Chestnut-stained plank, stone, and glass express the exterior, while the home’s interiors living spaces—which measure in at 8,264 sq. ft.—emphasize light and space.

The bathrooms and bedrooms sneak in a little ornament, though; the living room’s and master bedroom’s backlit tray ceilings, the master bath’s river stone-inset accent, and the green panel in the living room are a few examples of this home’s sense of embellishment.

At three acres, the lot is generous enough to feel isolated and very private while still being very manageable. The second-floor deck looks down the gradient of lawn to the water, and provides ample space for quieter leisure moments as well as entertaining; below, a lap pool and sunlounge complete the exterior living style.
