NBA champ JaVale McGee closed the sale of his home in Encino this fall. The Los Angeles Lakers player had initially offered the property for sale with an asking price of $3 million in November of last year; this summer, the residence was relisted with a $300,000 price chop.

In the end, the house sold for $2.5 million. The sale price is nearly a break-even figure, as McGee purchased it for $2.4 million in 2015.

The contemporary Mediterranean-style’s living spaces total 6,262 sq. ft. The exterior boasts a tile roof, ornamental columns, terra-cotta tile patios, and stone balustrades.

Inside the home, distressed, dark-finished plank floors and off-white walls and ceilings would set dramatic tenor that is mitigated somewhat by the beige stone floors of the foyer and dining room, and the moss-colored tile that adorns the counters and large center island in the kitchen.

In back, the property really blossoms, with a lengthy second-floor balcony overlooking a pool and spa, a cabana bar, a gazebo, a grill bar and a series of mature palms within a fairly expansive patio complex.

The home’s former owners include singer Marc Anthony.
