Singer Natasha Bedingfield had been renting their Hollywood Hills home for about three years when it hit the market for sale this summer with an asking price of $2.25 million.

Bedingfield and her husband, Matt Robinson, didn’t have long to wait for a buyer. Offers rolled in. In the end it was actor Sydney Poitier—daughter of Oscar-winning actor Sidney, and star of Canadian television series ‘Carter’—who stepped forward with the figure that won the home: $2.54 million.

The modern Spanish-style was constructed in 2000, and boasts a hilltop location that affords it unusually fine views that extend from the Hills to downtown Los Angeles. The rear of the lot is beautifully landscaped as affirming and park-like, and as a result the pergola-covered tile patio, which is surrounded by gardens and plantings, has a very secluded feel.

The interiors of the home boast traditional elements of a Spanish-style, with Spanish Oak tile floors and hand-painted tile risers in the elevated foyer, plank hardwood in the living spaces, ornamental arches, and exposed beams. There are three bedrooms and three baths across the home’s two levels, including a master with a private balcony.
