McLaren’s years of sport make up a significant chapter in competitive auto racing history, and the British exotic carmaker has more than a few limited-edition or figurehead models in its past that harken back to the days when racing was the focus of the company.

The winter of 2019 saw the appearance of the 720S Spa 68, a limited-production special edition car that hailed McLaren’s first F1 triumph. A little more than a year later comes another 720S. This time around, the story is Le Mans, which is the locus of auto racing mythology. In 1995, when McLaren Racing was riding high, they took home a win when drivers Dalmas, Sekiya and Lehto took the wheel of GTR #59.

The edition is limited to 50 examples, in McLaren Orange or Sarthe Grey. Carbon fiber and gloss black complete the exterior look. The 702S’s production V8 is the power plant.

Deliveries to U.S. shores are expected in the late summer or early fall. Pricing TBA.
