Vera Guerin sold her Beverly Hills estate ‘The Bedford’ this spring. The selling price registered at more than a third under Guerin’s initial asking price for the property; ‘The Bedford’ hit the market in February of last year at $36.5 million. It was priced at $31.5 million prior to its closing at $23.5 million.

The estate is crowned by a grand Georgian-style home. The winged design, symmetrical façade, and whitewashed masonry exterior accumulate into an aristocratic first impression. The 13,200 square feet of interior living space—across two levels, allowing for luxuriously high ceilings—are as traditionally blue-blooded, recalled East Coast voluptuousness of design from the first half of the century.

Standout details include the panoramic wall covering in the dining room—the material used is tile, giving the room the subtext of extraordinary craftsmanship. Chevron-pattern hardwood flooring, a series of glitzy chandeliers, built-ins, crown moldings, and wood paneling also feature heavily in the home.

Amenities in the mansion include a lounge with a lengthy marble bar, a home theater, a kitchen with harlequin-pattern gray-and-white marble tiles and a double-island layout, an elevator, a fitness room, a wine cellar, and a solarium breakfast room with multiple sets of steel-framed French doors. The master bedroom—one of the five bedrooms in the home—contains twin baths and dressing rooms; the baths are sheathed in marble.

The grounds extend to half an acre. A 40-foot pool and pool house in the Roman style dominate the back of the property; the pool house can double as a guest house.
