An estate in Northeastern California hit the open market this week at a substantial discount. The wilderness property—called Cedars Lodge—is priced at $25 million, a far cry from the initial listing price of $55 million it was saddled with in April of last year.

The property was developed by Robert Luciano, CTO of Bally Technologies, which designs gaming machines and provides casinos with management and other services. It is situated on the eastern border of the Plumas National Forest, and is accessible most readily via a small nearby airport; a private hangar is included with the sale.

The contemporary chalet-style features an exterior defined by glass, timber and stacked stone. It’s a large house, with over 20,000 square feet of interior living space, and accommodations that include ten bedrooms and eighteen baths.

Of the interior space, the layout sets aside 16,000 square feet for entertaining, food preparation, recreation, and guest accommodation. The building contains commercial kitchens, a gym with spa, a meeting room, and a wine cellar. A swimming pond with a beach, lounge spaces with fire features, a pavilion with an outdoor kitchen, and extensive equestrian facilities comprise a few of the property’s exterior amenities.

Other structures on the 36-acre property include a caretaker’s cabin, a carriage house, and a bunk house that can accommodate 18.
