Sandra Bullock’s Oceanfront Estate in Georgia Reduced to $6.1M

Sandra Bullock has owned this retreat on the coast of Georgia for nearly two decades. In the winter of 2017, she offered it as a rental at $1,400 per night, but that apparently wasn’t a long-term strategy.

And so onto the open market it went, then, in April of this year, for $6.5 million. September finds it still for sale, albeit with a modest price reduction that has brought the ask down to a somewhat more attractive $6.1 million.

The property is located on Tybee Island, a quiet barrier island a few miles from Savannah. There are two houses on the lot: a period-style ‘summer cottage’, and a more modern southern-style home.

The main house cuts a fine figure with its period coastal architecture, Caribbean-style interiors, and breezy wraparound porch. Its 3,360 square feet include a basketball court and a splendid red brick walkway and pool area.

The second residence is a 2,848 square-foot cottage, and a newer build. It features an open-concept common living space, porches, pine floors, tongue-and-groove ceilings, game room, and a unique feature for surveying the beach: a ‘crow’s nest’ terrace that peeks over the treetops toward the water.

Bullock’s recent projects include last year’s acclaimed ‘Bird Box’; she both starred in and executive produced the Netflix film.
