Romanian-born cosmetics billionaire Anastasia Soare plunked down nearly twenty million for a home on two acres in Beverly Park this month.

The 9,000 square-footer was built in 1993, and features exterior architecture that riffs on mission and contemporary traditional styles. As a prologue, the home features a circular motor court with a landscaped palm oasis as a centerpiece. This is a house that aspires to the palatial, and the stucco façade, which features a portico, dormers, plenty of glass, and an ornamental bell tower, sets the tenor.

In keeping, the interiors are similarly bombastic. The foyer is a standard-issue double-height affair with inlaid stone floors. The winding staircase features naturally finished hardwood treads, which warm and simplify, and plank oak used elsewhere in the common areas keeps the living style down-to-earth.

There aren’t a lot of surprises in the home, and on the whole it comes off as slick and somewhat innocuous. An entertainment room with a wet bar and fireplace, a living room with a fireplace, and a kitchen finished in beige and stainless reveal a living style that is a little lofty but also quite bland.

There are five bedrooms and 6.5 baths in the house. The master gets a substantial chunk of the second floor, and features a third fireplace, along with a bath that boasts a marvelously overblown quasi-solarium soaking tub with automated shades.

The property exterior is quite expansive: an extravagant column-supported portico that does double duty as a second-floor terrace, a large step-up patio which is ideal for cocktail parties, and a gated pool area round out a large lot size for the glitzy gated neighborhood: 2 acres.

Soare immigrated to the U.S. at the age of 32 and made her American Dream come true. Her net worth is around $1.2 billion, according to Forbes.
