Sting and Trudie Styler have a new investment-grade NYC pied-a-terre to add to their considerable real estate portfolio: a penthouse at 220 Central Park South. The property acquisition set the duo back a staggering $66 million, and stands as one of the more impressive entries in their lengthy list of residences.

The Robert A.M. Stern-designed building is divided into two sections, ‘Villa’ and ‘Tower’. The latter soars 79 floors above terra firma, but it’s in the more intimate and less audaciously overcompensating ‘Villa’ building where Sting and Styler will hang their hats should they be in the Big Apple.

The unit extends to 5,807 square feet, and contains three bedrooms and 5.5 baths in its layout. Most units in 220 Central Park South offer stunning views, and this one is no exception.

220 Central Park South is clad in limestone, a Stern signature. The Villa and Tower sections are linked by an arcade, and the condo units include balconies and terraces, and design flourishes that help place the complex into the historical context of Manhattan architecture.

The building opened in early 2018, and immediately captured the imagination of both those who can afford to live in it, and those who cannot. Earlier this year, billionaire Ken Griffin purchased the penthouse in the Tower section of the development for a cool $238 million.

The development joins Stern’s acclaimed 15 Central Park West as a contemporary residential high-rise phenomenon and a top choice for influential and affluent people from around the world.
