TV host Melissa Rivers has said bade a legal “goodbye” to her picture-perfect Pacific Palisades residence. She sold the home for $5.223 million.

Rivers, who also works as a producer, paid $2.35 million for the Los Angeles-area home back in 1998. The  Paseo Miramar-area home features a compellingly private but L.A.-fairy tale streetside impression, with a well-groomed privacy hedge only disrupted by a classic gated entry.

The house spans some 5,850 square feet, and contains six bedrooms. It’s a purebred traditional, and isn’t shy about inviting visitors into its bright, airy, and comfortably familiar living space. The living style is expressed as warm, spacious, and optimistic.

The living room is defined by coziness and setting: a fireplace and a wall of French doors facing the ocean reveal the living style and its context neatly, as a matched pair. On the other side of the living room is the family room that flows seamlessly to the updated gourmet kitchen. The chef’s kitchen stands out with plenty of white cabinetry and a large coastal blue eat-in island topped with a slab of marble.

Luxury living continues upstairs as well in the master suite with its massive walk-in closet, and spa-style marble bathroom. The master is carefully designed, and features panoramic wall coverings and a three-sided vaulted tongue-in-groove ceiling; it opens to a balcony overlooking the backyard with a swimming pool and spa.
