Following its debut in Pebble Beach last year, production of SSC North America’s 2019 Tuatara has begun in Richland, Washington. Actually, the very first example is already complete and has undergone testing on the track. One buyer will receive the first build later this year.

The hypercar boasts a carbon-fiber body designed for optimal aerodynamics and weight reduction. SSC claims that the Tuatara has a drag coefficient of just 0.279, which would make it the lowest of any other supercar to hit production.

Of course, supercar lovers are also salivating over the vehicle’s powerful 5.9-liter, twin-turbo V8 engine setup; the powerplant is paired with a 7-speed transmission. The sleek Tuatara produces an incredible 1,750 horsepower when filled with E85 gas.

SSC North America’s upcoming 2019 Tuatara is one of the most anticipated sports cars of the year. Without the 91 octane gasoline, the hypercar makes around 1,350 horses. SSC hasn’t shared any more performance specs, but Tuatara is expected to reach speeds in excess of 300 mph.
