Craig Ferguson’s Hollywood Hills Home on the Market at $5.2M

Comedian and author Craig Ferguson’s Hollywood Hills property is back in the real-estate news, this time with a small price reduction.

The transplanted Scot, ex-punker, and ex-talk show host listed the home for $6 million briefly before deciding to lower the price.

The property rambles casually across nearly an acre, and contains multiple residences and studio spaces; all in all, there are seven bedrooms and seven baths on the lot. All spaces are connected by a series of decks and outdoor balconies, with guest accommodations, a library, a fitness studio, and a recording studio all arranged around the main home. Total indoor living space measures over 6,800 square feet.

The interiors are unpretentious, and weighted toward traditional tropes. There’s no definite style inside or out, but craftsman flourishes and urbane rusticity express the home overall. Gloss-finished hardwood, varied plank flooring, and period-style fixtures and tile accumulate into a hodgepodge that feels pleasingly accidental. Louvered cabinetry, barn-doors, and midcentury and cottage design elements all pop up here and there.

The home’s exterior living spaces are generous, with a pool/spa, a large courtyard with a fountain, and lush landscaping dotted with mature trees and privacy hedges giving the property a secretive feel. Put in context, the privacy considerations alone may be worth the ticket price, especially for a celebrity buyer.

Ferguson lent his voice to this year’s ‘How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World’. He stars in Kathy Lee Gifford’s feature ‘Then Came You’; the film is due in theaters…this year?
