Jennifer Garner has taken a lease on an extravagant contemporary traditional house in Pacific Palisades. The home last changed hands just a few weeks ago for $13.9 million.

The 2009-built house features a complex façade that packs in the traditional East Coast architectural tropes, right down to an ornamental cupola. The entrance is a grand one, with a recessed entry flanked by columns and presided over by a pediment, all of which brings a little Greek Revival influence to the composition.

The house’s interiors extend to over 10,500 square feet, and present a modern interpretation of a luxurious Eastern summer home, with space, light, airiness and a cottagey sensibility all strongly represented. The home’s many sets of French doors continually suggest transition to and from the exterior living area, ceilings are frequently tongue-and-groove, and the kitchen gets in more than a few modern farmhouse design cues.

There are seven bedrooms and eight baths in the home. The master suite sticks to the traditional and features a marble fireplace; its vaulted ceilings and double set of French doors gives it a relaxing spaciousness, while the bath features period-style fixtures and tub. A large walk-in closet and dressing room is its essential amenity; others in the home include a screening room, a wine cellar, and a sauna.

Garner’s most recent film credits include lending her voice to the toon cast of ‘Wonder Park’; the movie is due in theaters in March.
