Superyacht Apogee has had one owner since she was launched; now that Darwin Deason has put her up for sale, she is currently searching for the next. The Codecasa-built yacht is priced at $24.95 million.

Without doubt a finely constructed yacht, Apogee lives up to her name. Her billionaire owner has had her exquisitely maintained, and put her in annually for a revision. She was built in 2003 and had an extensive refit in 2018 that included a 15-year survey, 20,000-hour engine service, stabilizer service, full hull and superstructure repaint, and interior and exterior living space refresh.

Apogee sleeps 18, with seven staterooms on board. Interiors from Franco and Anna Della Role are subdued but elegant, with an abundance of dark wood, marble accents, inlaid floors, and subtle lighting; the atmosphere is somewhat intense.

Apogee’s many amenities include a marvelous lounge; the bar is one of the longest of any on a similar-sized yacht, and the liberal use of wood ensconces guests in a warm and welcoming ambiance. A fitness center, a bright and unpretentious galley with a window seat and a breakfast counter, an elevator, and teak decks that culminate in an outdoor lounge with another bar are a few other highlights of this motoryacht.

Apogee’s 11 knots cruising and 17-knot top speeds come by way a pair Caterpillar 3516B diesels that collectively deliver over 4,500 HP. Her crew accommodations house 17, and include a captain’s cabin and office.

A full complement of toys and tenders includes fishing, snorkeling, and diving gear, as well as waverunners, kayaks, and scooters.

Darwin Deason is the founder of Affiliated Computer Services. He sold the company to Xerox in 2010 for $6.4 billion. His net worth is north of $1 billion.
