Individual, the bespoke division of BMW, has been around for over a decade. Usually, the specialists at Individual are tasked with stem-to-stern custom orders for entirely unique examples of upper-end models.

To start out the New Year, though, Individual has cast its gaze to the heavens and come up with the 8-Series M850i xDrive Coupe “Night Sky.” The German automaker’s new special-edition model boasts an interior trimmed with meteorite material. Even to the most jaded buyer, the effect is a uniquely affecting gravitas which should get deep-pocketed buyers thinking Individual in 2019.

The one-off employs a blend of rare wood and meteorite on the vehicle’s start button, center console, gear selector lever, and the iDrive controller. You might also notice an illuminated meteorite inlay along the door sills.

The “Night Sky” theme is continued with the inclusion of the futuristic Widmanstätten-patterned surfaces throughout; the look is a close approximation of a crystal pattern found in meteorites. Geometric and metallic, the unique metal alloy material can be found on the mirror caps, air intakes/inlets, brake rotors, and more. The final touch comes with the addition of LED armrests embedded with LEDs for a night sky effect. And a whole lot of power from its 4.4L V8: 523 HP and 553 lb-ft of torque.

Pricing for the “Night Sky” M850i hasn’t been announced by BMW. But it’ll be of this world for most, presumably.
