NBA star Kris Humphries recently purchased a flashy Los Angeles-area contemporary for $7.495 million.

Aside from his tenure as a professional basketball player, Humphries is famous for his 72-day marriage to Kim Kardashian in 2011. Past drama far behind him, Humphries has made several successful moves in the L.A. real estate market of late, including a profitable flip last summer.

The power forward’s new residence is slick and minimal, with non-existent ornament; a particularly tough expression of the contemporary style. Concrete and glass get the lion’s share of the attention, with terrazzo floors adding a welcome bit of texture and midcentury flair.

The home measures 4,542 square feet, with four bedrooms and four-baths, and is designed around a massive, central, open-concept great room. Accented with 12-foot ceilings and massive motorized walls of glass, the ultra-modern living space flows seamlessly to the kitchen with its center island and magnetic induction stove. Shades of gray continue through to Humphries’ master suite, which also boasts walls of sliding glass opening to the backyard.

Outside, the recreational centerpiece is a sparkling pool accented by a lounge space and panoramic views of the ocean and city beyond.

Humphries’ tenure with the Atlanta Hawks ended last year.
