Luxury watchmaker Roger Dubuis’ newest entry into horological chivalry has a glossy look, and a profoundly mythological context.

The Excalibur Knights of the Round Table III wristwatch follows a pair of previous entries; the first Round Table watch was introduced in 2013, and the second iteration emerged in 2015. But this time Arthurian Legend is defined by its central symbol: the magical sword Excalibur, the link between the mortal and the divine.

Beautifully designed, the Excalibur Knights of the Round Table III boasts a three-dimensional dial design crafted in tiers. The wearer–and anyone passing by–will instantly be mesmerized by the alternating blue enamel and rose-gold sections. There are a dozen of each. The case is rose gold.

Most impressive, though, is the inclusion of 12 miniature gold knights clad in gold armor that are placed at the top of each gold section. Each tiny knight was painstakingly designed and hand-finished by expert artisans. Watch-lovers will also be drawn to the 47mm Excalibur watch’s 172-part self-winding RD821 automatic movement with 48-hour time reserve.

Roger Dubuis’ new Excalibur Knights of the Round Table III timepiece is available for $280,200.
