Retired NBC Nightly News anchor Tom Brokaw has listed his longtime retreat in upper Westchester County, New York. Brokaw is asking $6.3 million for the home. The Brokaws have owned the property for two decades.

The property measures nearly 57 acres—more than enough breathing room for effectively regenerative downtime from the pressures of high-profile journalism. The house dates to the middle of the 1990’s, and features architecture that suggests both English country house and Northeast summer cottage. The exterior is defined in shingle, stucco, stone, and a charming mix of window shapes.

The home’s interiors extend to a little more than 4,050 square feet. A screened porch on the back of the house presents a suitably easygoing blurring of interior and exterior, and vaulted ceilings allowing for a nice sense of interior proportion. Dark-finished wide-plank floors, beige walls, reclaimed glass, plaster, stone and raw timber define the spaces as warm and textured, and complement its landscape very well.

The home contains four bedrooms and six baths. Standout spaces include the glass-enclosed dining room, the loft library, and the soaring great room. The master suite is situated on the ground floor, and opens to an outdoor spa.

The property exterior features woodland, a private lake, and a pool with rustic pool house.

Tom Brokaw was the face of NBC journalism for over two decades. He won three Peabody awards during his career, and penned the bestselling ‘The Greatest Generation.’
